Because many VA authorizations (VA auths) are driven by a veteran’s Primary Care Provider (PCP), veterans are encouraged to take proactive steps to ensure continuity of care. This often includes scheduling and completing a consult with their PCP in advance, as PCP referrals are typically required for specialty care, community care authorizations, and certain support services.
