KWA’s Senior Service Programs are designed to support older adults in living healthy, connected, and independent lives. With a holistic and culturally responsive approach, these programs nurture physical health, emotional well-being, and social connection—helping seniors age with dignity, purpose, and vitality.
King County-Specific Programs funded byVeterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL)
Through funding from King County’s Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL), KWA delivers specialized programs that respond to the unique needs of King County residents, strengthening community connections and supporting individuals and families across the lifespan.

KWA has leveraged its capital fund to enhance the daily lives of seniors through a variety of refurbishment projects, including floor and furniture upgrades, office and bathroom renovations, and improvements to the garden area. In addition to these enhancements, the program has also implemented measures to promote services such as:

Senior Center Service
KWA’s senior centers serve as vibrant community hubs where King County older adults can gather, connect, and thrive. These centers offer a wide range of social activities, health promotion and wellness programs, educational opportunities, and direct connections to essential resources that support healthy and engaged aging.
Unpaid Caregiver Support Service
This program provides targeted support to unpaid caregivers caring for elderly family members. Services include respite care, educational workshops, support groups, and individualized resources designed to reduce caregiver stress, strengthen coping skills, and promote caregiver well-being.
Disability Family Support Service
This program supports families caring for a loved one with a disability by providing resource navigation, education, and peer support groups. The service is designed to strengthen family capacity, reduce isolation, and connect households to the tools and supports they need to sustain long-term care and stability.
Benefits Enrollment Services
KWA’s Benefits Enrollment Services serve as a vital gateway to essential safety-net programs, helping individuals and families access critical public benefits with clarity and confidence. Through personalized assistance and eligibility assessment, KWA staff work one-on-one with community members to navigate complex application processes and reduce barriers to support. Services include enrollment and ongoing assistance with programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Famers Market Voucher to help ensure consistent access to nutritious food, and the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to support low-income households in maintaining safe and reliable utility services.

In 2022, KWA Social Services team served 16,035 individuals and families, helping them access at least one or more public benefits.
Resident Services
KWA is committed to providing a Resident Support Service to our residents living in three senior affordable housing facilities that we own.
These facilities, Pacific Villa, International Place, and Senior City, are under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Our goal is to ensure that our residents have access to the necessary support services and resources to maintain their health, independence, and overall wellbeing.
Our Resident Support Service is designed to assist our residents in accessing community benefits and services. We work to identify available resources and programs in the community and connect residents to those that are most suitable for their individual needs. We also offer customized programs and services that are tailored to meet the unique preferences and requirements of our residents.
Some of the support services that we provide include benefit assistance, counseling for options, in-home care services, community resource connections, free meals, transportation arrangements, daily activities, and more.
KWA work closely with our residents to develop and implement programs and activities that promote socialization and engagement. Our daily activities program offers a variety of options, including fitness classes, arts and crafts, games, and outings.
We also organize social events and celebrations, such as holiday parties and cultural festivals.
KWA recognize that our residents have diverse needs and preferences, and it is our utmost priority to create a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere that values their individuality. Our goal is to provide a supportive and inclusive environment that meets the unique needs and desires of each resident

Since 1988, KWA has been dedicated to providing congregate nutrition services for seniors from four distinct ethnic groups- Korean, Vietnamese, Cambodian, and English-speaking – at two locations in Federal Way (King County) and Tacoma (Pierce County).
These meal sites serve not only nutritionally-balanced hot meals, but also offer a vibrant atmosphere for socialization, engaging educational programs, and invigorating health activities, fostering a sense of community and connection among seniors.
Ages 60+ are eligible and a $3 – $5 contribution is suggested.
For those who are homebound and need help with meal preparation, KWA offers a Home Delivery Meal Service. However, to be eligible for this service, applicants must first undergo an assessment to determine their qualification.

Ethnic Senior Congregate Nutrition Service
KWA ensures older adults have regular access to nutritious, well-balanced meals while creating welcoming spaces for social interaction. Congregate dining not only supports physical health but also reduces social isolation by fostering meaningful connections among peers.
Health Home Service
KWA’s Health Home Services provide care coordination and personalized support for seniors managing chronic conditions or complex health needs. Through care planning, health education, referrals, and ongoing follow-up, this service helps participants better navigate the healthcare system, improve health outcomes, and maintain independence in their daily lives.
Care Coordination
If you have Apple Health/ Medicaid and are experiencing chronic health conditions, you could also qualify to receive free one-to-one care coordination assistance, Health Homes Coordinated Care, We will work with you and your healthcare provider.
